I am a staff member at CCPE, working on the diploma course. This involves group work, group supervision, delivering training and lectures. In addition I train and teach at other various organisations.
Past work experiences include the running of counselling services, work within the substance misuse field, young people and the NHS.
I worked for many years providing group supervision to NHS and private services.
I have a daily meditation and yoga practice. I am in regular ongoing therapy and self development.
Its not easy to convey meaningful information about psychotherapy or myself as a therapist on a website. Research consistently shows it's the client/therapist relationship which is all important, more than the approach used. Each person and individual session are unique, so how I work is determined by what difficulties are being experienced at that time and the outcome hoped for. My approach focuses on the interaction between the two (or more) people in the therapy room.
Without having met, I would be interested in what's currently going on that's to initiate a search for help now.
I work integratively and creatively using traditional narrative style, Gestalt, bodywork, art, TA, and dream work. I have a growing interest in neuroscience and ego state therapy.
Generally I offer 50 minute weekly sessions which may be time focused or more longer term. I sometimes do longer treatment sessions particularly with trauma work. It may also be possible to arrange more frequent sessions on an occasional or ongoing basis. Fees are payable by cash/cheque at the end of each session and are non refundable.Internet banking is also an option but this would mean paying in advance at the start of each calendar month. Fees are reviewed each year and I will inform you well in advance of changes. I charge for missed or cancelled sessions outside of the agreed 48 hr notice period, unless an alternative time during that calendar week is agreed.
